Most of us always want to get into better shape.
For the New Year, Spring Break, summer bikini season, a wedding, class reunion, after having a baby...
But the phrase "in shape" almost always refers to our bodies.
Sure, our stomachs, butts and biceps gotta look tight, but what about keeping our minds sharp and shredded?
Creative and critical thinking are just as important as cardio and strength training. So don't forget to keep your best muscle [the brain] nimble, too! And why not work it the same time as working the rest of your body?!
That's where a growing number of physical and mental fitness activities come into the picture.
Here’s my personal favorite: a fun, yet easy game that can be done with a group at any gym, youth camp / school P.E. class, office meeting, family picnic and beyond. No equipment is required.
3 Word Story / 3 Exercises
-All participants gather in a circle (or square, rhombus, whatever).
-Participants agree on three exercises (for example- jumping jacks, push-ups, squats) to each perform in continuous three rep sets.
-Go around the circle with all working to tell a story - only three, rapid fire words at a time.
-If someone can’t think of three words that logically advances the story while exercising, they’re out.
-Game goes until only one storyteller is left standing.
-Repeat.
